Tribeca Digital Studios

Tribeca Digital Studios was launched as an opportunity to develop entertainment properties by expanding on relationships established through the Tribeca Film Festival. Within the first year the TDS portfolio included a 3 part :22 min. docu-series for Amex, a narrative short for Sony, narrative and documentary shorts for DailyCandy, and an Emmy Award winning feature documentary for Dick’s Sporting Goods.

TDS’s first webseries, Acting Disruptive, featured celebrities who had started tech and new media companies.  AD has been viewed over 20 million times, making it the most watched series in AOL On’s history.  

Acting Disruptive, hosted by Max Lugavere (Current TV) featured:  Jessica Alba, Adrian Grenier, Rainn Wilson, Olivia Wilde, Adam Godberg, Jared Leto, Felicity Huffman, Moby, Seth Green, and Russell Simmons.

Maker Studios

Tribeca and Maker Studios teamed up to see what would happen when you mixed traditional filmmakers with the worlds biggest YouTube stars.  The experiment resulted in a partner channel called Picture Show which produced movie based sketch comedy and short films.

Wrecked, starring Maker founder Kassem G and written and directed by Justin Benson/Aaron Moorehead (Spring, Resolution).
